We were approached by a private individual to demolish and rebuild a 1960’s dwelling in order to create a modest and environmentally sustainable dwelling that took inspiration from the character of the area whilst still being distinctive in its form and style.
The owners of the land hoped for the process to run as smoothly as possible and our extensive understanding of the local and national planning policy allowed us to quickly assess the site’s potential and obtain planning approval for this contemporary 2½ storey, 4-bedroom dwelling with parking within 10 weeks from instruction.
Planning officers and local neighbours were supportive of the development, citing its clever interpretation of the surrounding properties but in a more contemporary design. Councillors and planning officers agreed that the scheme was of exceptionally high quality that provided significant visual enhancements to the surrounding area with clever detailing and sustainable technologies.
