We were approached by a private client who wanted a first-floor extension to their existing property to achieve an additional two bedrooms. The site lies within the Cambridge Conservation Area and the clients desire for a highly efficient and eco-friendly extension incorporating solar panels, sustainable building materials, and increased insulative properties created a challenging but exciting design

We were inspired by the local context and recent trend of development in the area and the building’s elevations reference the rhythm and finishes of the Conservation Area. High-quality brick and zinc cladding detailing to integrate the extension seamlessly with the surrounding vernacular is proposed and it is considered the high specification of the proposal will provide a unique and positive built.
