Twenty-Nine Architecture was commissioned to assess a development site with an existing planning consent for serviced accommodation. Tasked with maximizing the site’s potential and delivering a solution that better integrates with the surrounding area, we conducted an in-depth review and proposed a new vision: four detached, five-bedroom homes designed in a modern Art Deco style. This new scheme not only enhances the Gross Development Value (GDV) for the developer but also enriches the neighborhood with thoughtfully designed family residences that prioritize both elegance and functionality.
Our approach for these homes draws on the timeless beauty of Art Deco, reimagined for contemporary family living. Each home blends the sophistication of this classic style with modern needs, creating an environment that is both visually captivating and highly livable. Designed with careful attention to both form and function, these homes offer spacious layouts and refined details, making them an ideal choice for families seeking both comfort and style.
True to the elegance of the Art Deco period, the homes feature distinct facades marked by clean lines, bold geometries, and balanced symmetry. Curved walls, stylized copings, and decorative moldings accentuate the architecture, adding unique character and flair to each property. The exterior finishes include soft, earthy tones that allow the homes to blend with the natural surroundings, complemented by high-quality materials that ensure both durability and charm.
Landscape Integration: The site is thoughtfully planned to enhance privacy, maximize natural light, and integrate harmoniously with the neighborhood. Outdoor spaces with native landscaping add a sense of serenity and a family-friendly atmosphere.
Each home offers an open-plan layout tailored to the needs of modern families. The interiors are designed to be flexible, spacious, and comfortable, allowing each family member personal space while fostering connected living areas for shared moments. High-quality finishes throughout ensure that each space is both functional and elegant, with energy-efficient features to support sustainable, low-cost living.
By transforming the site from serviced accommodation to permanent family residences, this development directly addresses local housing needs. The addition of these distinctive Art Deco-inspired homes not only meets the demand for high-quality family housing but also enhances the architectural character of the area, creating a cohesive, enduring addition to the community.
